Scaling & Sustainability: Building Capacity Within Their Structures

Tom DeWire (EdScale, LLC) and Margaret Troyer from the STARI program discusses her team's approach to sustaining and scaling a literacy intervention for middle and high school students who are reading below grade level. The program focuses on engaging students with age-appropriate texts and discussion-based interventions. The program is designed for scalability from the beginning, addressing problems of practice, student engagement, and end-user needs. They also leverage existing coaching structures and provide online professional learning to build local capacity.
